Stop with your bullshit excuses. It’s that simple.
I know I know – simple doesn’t = easy.

You used to be an athlete in back in the day but somehow you lost your grit.
You lost your confidence along the way.
You gained a lot of weight in college or maybe while pregnant.
You lost the weight because you had a strategy that worked for you back then. You worked out, you ate on point – most of the time.

But something was missing.

You felt deprived. You couldn’t eat the things you wanted or do this or do that because you’d screw it all up.
The days you’re on point you felt AMAZING and the MOST confident you had in years – yet you didn’t reach your goal.

Then shit really hit the fan.

You had another kid.
You went back to school.
You work a full-time job (or two).
You lost control of your health and now you’re back at square one.

You know you can lose the weight because you’ve done it so many times before but you struggle keeping it off.

You know once you start, it becomes a lifestyle. But you struggle with where to start. Especially when it comes to food. And self-care.

You use diet loosely because you really want a healthier lifestyle and not something short term… again.
Once you find a ‘diet’ that works you don’t veer from it which = burnout from the same old same old.

Then it happens.

You ‘mess up.’

Now you’re stressed which = comfort eating. Stress eating.

All the progress you made is now in the toilet. Again.

You lose all the energy you gained back.

Your confidence plummets from the weight gain which feeds the ugly cycle of comfort eating.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

I repeat: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

This is a journey so let’s come from a place of compassion rather than fixing what’s broken.
There is nothing wrong with you!

You don’t need fixing.

You’re not broken.

You’re stuck in a pattern and can’t see the way out.

I like to imagine it like running on a treadmill. You start moving so fast it stirs shit up – like when you first start running and it freaking sucks but once you get your breathwork right and you’re past that hump it feels great. This is the same thing!

You get started and it stirs all your emotions, thoughts, what-ifs, and beliefs up and it scares you.

All of that is hitting you so hard, so fast – it’s that wall. Or that little voice that says “you can’t do this.”
You tell yourself you don’t know why you started this journey in the first place.

The more you think about it the faster the ‘treadmill’ goes and before you know it you’re about to fall off. You don’t know how to get off safely.

You don’t know how to stop all those thoughts and beliefs and what-ifs.
The flood of emotion is real and it swallows you up before you know what happened.

You don’t know how to break the pattern.

You don’t know how to end that chapter of your life to start the new one. The one you want.
You do know-how.

But when you’re caught up in the moment and all those fears and doubts and beliefs and insecurities flood your mind it gets hard. It gets scary.

It feels like the only way off that treadmill is to jump but if you jump you’ll crash and burn and look like a total goof who failed again.
Once again you proved to yourself that living a ‘healthy’ lifestyle that works for you is impossible.

You tell yourself you gave it you are all.

No, you didn’t!!!!
If you did it would have worked!

If you gave it everything you have you’d have what you want!

You didn’t trust yourself enough to go all in.

Every choice you make is an opportunity to learn why you do what you do. If you don’t feel your choice is serving you then it’s doing you a disservice.

Here’s something I learned from my mentor…

It’s not your circumstances holding you back – it’s you.

You’re holding yourself back.

Every attempt and failure is you.

Every success is you.

Until you own that you’re not going all-in you won’t get the results you want.

You’ll keep spinning the bull shit excuses you’ve taught yourself to believe.

Excuses like:

  • You’re a single mom who works a full-time job, or 2 or 3. So what! You’re not the only one. Others can do those things while hitting their goal – so can you!

  • You go to school and do X, Y & Z to make ends meet. So what! So did I and others like us and they made their wants a reality.

  • You don’t have the money. How much money do you waste every week on shit that gets you further from what you want? Plus, that’s what credit cards and loans are for. I had to have my mentor tell me this – leverage your money so it’s WORKING FOR YOU!

  • You don’t have the time. What do you spend your time doing? Binging on Netflix? Instagram stories? Scrolling through Facebook or Pinterest? We all have 24 hours in a day. All of us. The people who make shit happen and hit their goals know how to prioritize and put themselves first.

  • You work night shift – me too!!! I still show up to be here for you.

  • ALL the finances fall on you causing a lot of stress. I’ve been in that boat too sister.

I don’t believe your excuses. None of them!

I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve used every single one of those excuses and more. The only difference between you and me is I found the right people to challenge me.

To support me.
To push me.
If you’re struggling with your health, weight, eating habits, etc this isn’t about finding a diet that works. They all work. All of them.

The problem is you. And the amount of effort you put in.

With that being said, let me make this clear – I don’t believe in diets.

Diets leave you feeling rigid, confused, frustrated and like you have to use exercise as a punishment. BS!

Those are the same restrictive thoughts and beliefs holding you back from everything else!
They’re meant to keep you in this pattern.
Once you “fuck up” you jump back on the treadmill of emotion and beliefs.
You tell yourself how much you suck and find yourself eating everything in sight to numb out from the guilt and shame of fucking up yet again.

The real problem is stress.

You don’t know how to effectively manage it. You don’t know how to cope with it.
Stress….. Go figure right? Right!

You stuffing your face because you “blew it for the day” was your old coping strategy.

It numbed you out and took away the deprivation only to replace it with guilt and shame. It probably even made you feel better for a nano-second.

That worked for you then, give yourself a pat on the back for helping yourself through stressful moments then but that’s the past and it’s not working for you anymore.

Now it’s working against you. That strategy is now the problem.

Here’s the reason you can’t break through this pattern.

You’re not putting yourself into the arena where people celebrate the kind of work you’re doing to up level yourself.

Right now, you complain and tell your struggles to other people in the same boat as you. They’re stuck too – so do you think asking them for help and support will help you move forward?

No!
They’re not helping you succeed. They’re helping you stay stuck because they believe all your bull shit excuses and sob stories.
This is so hard.
I can’t do it.
I don’t have time.
I work too much.

Wah wah wah…..

You won’t show up for all the shit you should do because it’s not what you really want. It’s somebody else’s wants.
When shit gets hard – which it will- think of your WHY.

Why are you doing this?
Why do you want this?

Why are you going to show up and do the fucking work?

Showing up like you know it will work has nothing to do with the circumstances in your life. It has everything to do with your faith in yourself.

You have to believe you’re capable or you’ll never do it.
You have to do it like you KNOW it will work.
You can spend your time worrying about what-ifs.
Or, you can take the action you know you need to take to get there.

THAT MEANS ASKING FOR HELP!

Ask for help woman!

You’re not meant to do this alone. We all want and need a supportive tribe to hold us accountable and to help us see what we’re capable of.

Put yourself in the arena with people who have achieved what you want.
They’ve done the work and will push you to your goal.

They won’t buy into your BS because we see it for what it is.

BS.

What will life be like in a year from now if you keep this up? Two years? Three?

It’s not going to be any easier tomorrow than it is today…
You DESERVE all of your wants and desires to be your reality.
With love,
Becca, xoxo ❤
